Set at the foot of the Hunters Hills with the legendary white horse towering above the grounds, the Southern Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association hosted it’s inaugural A&P Show in 2011 along with a Spring Equestrian Show.
Our association is an amalgamation of the former Timaru and Waimate A&P Associations and so brings to you the combined experience of over 270 years of annual shows.
Venue Hire
With the modern multipurpose A&P Shears Pavilion hosting up to 250 people, yarding for 460 horses, as well as 20 hectares of grounds available for hire — there’s options aplenty.
The A&P Shears Pavilion is Waimate’s premier indoor event venue and has hosted everything from weddings to balls to seminars to funerals. Its facilities include a commercial kitchen and dining room, bar and outdoor area, toilets and showers, public address/sound system, first aid room, and office.
